That's always the goal, to be No. 1."
With the Patriots coming off a solid season defensively, there's a strong foundation to build upon. White emphasized his approach to his role, saying, "Dominant player, striking with my hands... getting vertical separation and getting off the ball and making my tackles."
The transition on offense is equally significant. As the team adjusts to a new quarterback, the competition is heating up between seasoned Jacoby Brissett and promising rookie Drake Maye. The Patriots' first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers this Thursday night should offer more clarity on who will likely take the helm. For White, facing a new opponent is a welcome change. "Going against somebody else finally," he said, reflecting the team's eagerness to test their revamped strategies against real competition.
Throughout these changes, White remains focused, undeterred by external expectations. "You gotta kind of ignore the noise and control what you can control, which is every day out here at practice," he noted.
